3 women shot after discussion over politics; no arrest made, Miami police say

Police in Miami are investigating after officials said three women were shot during an argument over politics early Wednesday, the day after Election Day.

The shooting took place on a residential street southwest of the city’s Wynwood neighborhood on Wednesday, the Miami-Dade Police Department told USA TODAY.

Officers responded at 12:25 a.m. for a report of three females struck by gunfire, the police department’s spokesperson Michael Vega said Thursday.

The shooting scene is just over two miles northwest of downtown Miami.

At the crime scene, Vega said responding officers found three women shot.

Group was drinking, talking politics hours after Election Day, police say

First responders transported the women to a local hospital − one in critical condition and the other two people in stable condition, Vega said

A preliminary investigation revealed the following:

“A group was drinking and talking about politics when the shooting suspect went to a vehicle, retrieved a firearm, and began shooting,” Vega said.
