HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – Much of the area is socked under clouds this morning, although there is a little clearing in Northern Nebraska. Meanwhile, moisture that was over Southwest Nebraska yesterday and light night, did dissipate late in the night. There is still a lot of moisture just southwest of our area, which is going to lead to a major winter storm in parts of Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. Some of that moisture will move back into Southwest Nebraska today. While a few snowflakes will be possible, this should chance to some chilly light showers. The push of moisture from the southwest will be counteracted by clearing moving in from the north and east. So, roughly the northeastern half of the area will see decreasing clouds, while the southwest stays fairly cloudy. Highs today will range from the upper 30s in extreme Southwest Nebraska to the mid 50s north and east. Overnight, some of the light rain will remain southwest of the Tri-Cities, but much of it will diminish again after midnight. Meanwhile, clouds will start to build back northeastward through the night. Lows will mostly be in the 30s and lower 40s.
