Airline completes first Fla. flights out of W. Pa. airport

( WJET/WFXP ) — It can be difficult for Erie travelers to get around the country, but Breeze Airways is making that a little easier, now offering flights to Orlando and Tampa.

Wednesday night the airline celebrated its first flight into Erie International Airport, and for one passenger, it’s now much easier to get back to the town he was raised in.

“The flight was phenomenal. When we were landing here I was thinking, ‘Man, we have to drive two hours to here from Buffalo. Wait a minute, we just flew to Erie, my hometown. Boom.’ My grandfather’s going to pick us up, and it’s 20 minutes to the house. It’s perfect,” said Eric Viculich, an Erie native.

Breeze Airways offers nonstop flights to Orlando starting at $55 on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
