Free concert from Airmen of Note big band tops Tampa Bay live jazz calendar

Tampa Bay enjoys a robust weekly jazz calendar, but it’s not often we get to hear big band. Made up of 17-active duty musicians and a vocalist under the direction of Col. Don Schofield, the Airmen of Note are one of six ensembles in the U.S. Air Force. Recent performances have included 1940s big band favorites, plus new compositions.

There’s no cover to see the U.S. Air Force Airmen of Note play Ferguson Hall at David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, Nov. 11—but anyone who wants to swing through must RSVP for a ticket.
