Fire damages central Fresno building, investigation ongoing

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A building in central Fresno caught fire Thursday morning, putting a column of black smoke high into the air, according to the Fresno Fire Department.

Fire crews arrived just before 9 a.m., at a house on the 300 block of N Pacific Ave near Belmont.

When fire crews responded, they said a house was on fire and a large column of smoke was already visible.

When firefighters arrived, they found fire in an outbuilding behind the home. The family living in the home got out safely, and the fire did not spread further.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
