5 forced out of home after fire outside Sanger

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Five people were forced out of their home after a residential fire broke out in the back of a house just south of Sanger on Thursday.

Fresno County Fire says that at approximately 8:30 a.m. resources responded to a residential structure fire on Greenwood Avenue, between North Avenue and Central Avenue, south of Sanger.

Crews say it was first reported that a fire had started in the back of the house and extended into the attic. There were also reports of someone still inside the residence.

According to Fresno County Fire, firefighters searched the home for occupants but no one was inside.

Fresno County Fire says they were assisted by the Selma Fire Department and the Sanger Fire Department.

There were no reported injuries to civilians or fire personnel.
