Former Bishop Duane Youngblood recently appeared on the Larry Reid Live Show, where he candidly discussed a pivotal encounter with Bishop T.D. Jakes. During the interview, Youngblood recalled an incident from his youth that left a lasting impact on him.

In the early 2000s and at just 18 years old, Youngblood and a friend had the opportunity to dine with Bishop Jakes following a sermon Jakes delivered on his own birthday. Reflecting on the night, Youngblood said, “I was able to convince my mother to let me drive her car since I didn’t have a vehicle.”

After dinner, it was decided that Youngblood would drive Jakes back to his lodging for the night—a local woman’s home.

According to Youngblood, this woman, known as Sister Jiles, frequently hosted Jakes during his visits. “For some reason, Sister Jiles always requested for Jakes to stay at her home and care for him whenever he was in town,” he explained.
