KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Smokies have officially announced their name change to the Knoxville Smokies and shared what their new team logo and jerseys will look like.
The rebrand comes along with the Smokies’ move to Knoxville, where the team will call the new Covenant Health Park on East Jackson Avenue home.

“With the upcoming move to Knoxville, it is imperative to embrace our new home, while maintaining the Smokies brand,” said Boyd Sports President Chris Allen. “It is our desire that the new logo honors the city of Knoxville and the rich tradition of Smokies Baseball.”
While the team’s name is changing, the Knoxville Smokies will still be using their traditional royal blue, light blue, and red with the new addition of gold. The primary logo will still feature the well known bear with the Smoky Mountains, but the Smokies script will be sitting on top of downtown Knoxville’s Henley Bridge.
The team’s rebranded name and logo have already been added to Minor League Baseball’s website. For fans of Smokies Baseball, the name change was not unexpected. Since the team’s departure from Smokies Stadium in Kodak was announced, it has been widely shared that the Smokies would be changing their name to the Knoxville Smokies.
