Anchor tenant backs out of Greenville County Square redevelopment

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – The Greenville County Square redevelopment project in downtown Greenville has lost one of its anchor tenants.

Lima One Capital announced in 2023 that they planned to lease around 65,000 square feet of office space as part of a $51.4 million investment to locate their headquarters at the development.

The company was set to become one of the anchor tenants at RocaPoint Partners’ 40-acre, $1 billion redevelopment project.

In a statement, Lima One said the company remains strongly committed to expanding their presence in Greenville.

“Unfortunately, the pace of development at County Square was slower than anticipated,” the company said in a statement. “To ensure continuity of our business operations and provide an exciting new headquarters for our employees, we felt it necessary to terminate the lease at County Square and explore alternatives.”

Lima One, a financial company which lends money to real estate investors, is currently headquartered at 201 East McBee Avenue.
