FRANKFORT, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A former Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services employee has been sentenced after a wire fraud and identity theft investigation.
On Thursday, the Department of Justice said 35-year-old Brittany Joyce May, of Frankfort, was sentenced to 36 months in prison for wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.

May’s plea agreement said between July 2021 and May 2023 May worked as an administrative specialist for the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS). During that time she handled payments to providers under adoption and foster programs.
She would input the provider’s personal and banking information into a directory and initiate payments using a wire transfer to those providers.
