Do you have cracked and damaged sidewalks in front of your house or business? The city of Woodburn has started a program to help fund sidewalk repairs.
Property owners who want to fix sidewalks near their properties can apply for the 50/50 sidewalk repair program, which will subsidize half the cost of repair.
“The City of Woodburn recognizes the need to maintain sidewalks within the city is necessary to protect the health, safety, and welfare of residents and visitors,” the city wrote in the press statement. “Woodburn loves its mature street trees throughout the city and strives to protect them; however, tree roots can cause significant damage to sidewalks.”
Applications for the program will only be considered if the damaged sidewalks are along public streets as approved by the Public Works and Planning departments.
Property owners can apply only for one reimbursement for one property in a calendar year, and applications must be approved by the city before the work actually begins.
