Beaver Dam man pleads guilty in connection to 2020 murder for hire case

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A Beaver Dam man plead guilty to accessory after the fact in a 2020 murder for hire case.

According to court documents, Freddy Manuel Gonzalez, 40, of Bowling Green, provided Xavior Caine Posey, 26, of Logan County, with a firearm and paid him to commit murder. The victim was reportedly shot three times in Franklin County.

After the shooting, authorities say Andy Schmucker, 37, of Beaver Dam, drove Posey away from the shooting scene. He is scheduled for sentencing on December 2.

Gonzalez was sentenced to 40 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. Posey was sentenced to 35 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
