EVANSVILLE — The story of the murder of Evansville firefighter Robbie Doerr will be the focus on Friday night’s ” 20/20 ” program on ABC.
The episode, titled “Fire and Vice” will premiere at 8 p.m. CT, and will also later stream on Hulu.
Doerr, 51, was shot and killed in his driveway on Feb. 26, 2019, on the North Side of Evansville. It would take a few years, but ultimately his wife, Elizabeth Fox-Doerr, and a man she was reportedly having a relationship with, Larry Richmond Sr. were both arrested in connection to Doerr’s death.
Fox-Doerr was found guilty this year, and sentenced in June to 90 years in prison − 60 years for aiding, inducing or causing murder, a Level 1 felony and 30 years for conspiracy to commit murder, also a Level 1 felony.
Richmond Sr., who was convicted of a prior murder and released from prison not long before Doerr’s killing, stands accused of firing the fatal shots. According to court records, he has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
