October was an exciting month filled with challenges for the underwater camera!

The waters were quite rough, and while divers made some courageous attempts, the conditions just weren’t in their favor. Interestingly, the dome’s wiper blade, which typically lasts only a month, managed to hold on from June all the way to the end of October—what a record! Despite the buildup, the growth didn’t prevent the wiper from keeping the dome mostly clear. Quite impressive, don’t you think?

Now, let’s talk about our eagerly awaited visitors! This month, Spinner the Sea Cam was treated to a delightful array of familiar faces: horse-eyed jacks, juvenile blue tangs, gray triggers, and even a mug-faced black grouper. Jack crevalles were abundant, and we even caught a quick glimpse of a whistling sharpnose puffer! The cast was rounded out with baby porkfish, sergeant majors, a wounded schoolmaster snapper, a vibrant blue-striped grunt, and a little brown chromis. October may have had its challenges, but our marine friends made it a truly memorable month beneath the waves.
