Oath Pizza, the Boston-based fast-casual pizza chain, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on October 22, marking the end of its once-promising journey. The company, which had already shut down all its corporate locations a year prior, is now liquidating its assets, with estimated liabilities up to $50 million and assets under $500,000.
Founded in 2015 on Nantucket Island, Oath Pizza gained attention with its unique grilled thin-crust pizza and commitment to sustainability. Despite early growth, including a $4.5 million funding round in 2016 and a 2018 partnership with Aramark, the brand struggled to expand. Plans to target college campuses and franchise growth across the Northeast never materialized, leading to its downfall.
