BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — A Bradenton woman and her family have been living with a massive hole in her apartment complex for nearly a month due to strong winds.
Kimberly Alexandre said the roof was damaged from high winds during Hurricane Milton, but it still hasn’t been repaired.
“I said I’m going to call every day until I get an answer,” said Alexandre. “I never got that answer.”
‘8 On Your Side’ went to the rental office of the apartment complex to speak with the staff.
The staff said they were aware of the issue, but they were unable to share any additional details about the situation at this time.
“I deserve answers,” said Alexandre. “Fix the roof, tarp it, or temporarily fix it.
However, Alexandre is worried the condition of the unit is getting worse.
She reported that birds, bats, and insects have been infesting the attic since it was exposed to the elements after the hurricane.
Fix the roof so we can continue to live here,” Alexandre said.
A Good Samaritan has stepped in to help the family, but he is worried about their health and well-being while they wait for repairs.
