Cold Nights Ahead with Rain Expected This Weekend and Next Week for Northern California, Coast

A shift in weather patterns is bringing chilly temperatures to Northern California as high pressure clears skies, but rain is on the way. Tonight, temperatures are expected to dip into the mid to high 30s in many interior valleys and some coastal areas, with the possibility of coastal stratus and patchy fog returning overnight.

Looking ahead, a weak weather system will bring light rain to the region Saturday, with the heaviest rainfall expected Sunday into early next week. Del Norte and Humboldt counties may see up to a tenth of an inch of rain, while a stronger storm will bring more substantial rainfall Sunday, with over 90% chance of an inch in Del Norte and the King Range. Windy conditions are also expected, particularly along coastal areas and ridges. Stay tuned for updated forecasts as the storm system approaches.
