AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Board of Elections met for an important step in the election process on Friday.
Members met this morning at the Board of Elections warehouse on Lumpkin Road on Nov. 8 to make sure they are prepared for next week’s county certification of the 2024 election results.
“This meeting is basically a precertification meeting,” said Travis Doss, Executive Director. Richmond County Board of Elections. “There was a new CB rule that was approved about a month ago that stated that the boards would need to meet on Friday before 3 p.m. to basically look at the number of votes per precinct and to make comparison of those votes.”
The board will hold their election certification meeting next Tuesday at 2 p.m. The public is welcome to attend the meeting.
