Ten providers of Permanent Supportive Housing have been awarded $554,596 from the Iowa Finance Authority, the agency announced. Permanent Supportive Housing is an evidence-based, minimal-barrier housing intervention for people experiencing homelessness. The programs are designed to support individuals with complex, multi-occurring conditions. Qualifying households are provided permanent affordable housing with access to case management and support services. The Iowa Finance board created the Iowa Permanent Housing Fund as a way to support the operational stability of the state’s permanent housing providers. The fund provides assistance in the form of an operating deficit relief grant of up to $50,000 or one-time operating expense grant of up to $25,000. Recipients of the grants from Des Moines include Anawim Housing ($50,000), Families Forward ($25,000), and Youth and Shelter Services ($25,000). To see the entire list of grant recipients, click here.
