Kiwanis Club starts up new charter at Erie High School

An international service club is opening a new charter at a local high school.

The Kiwanis Club of Erie delivered a new charter to Erie High School Thursday, bringing the school into its philanthropic society.

Students and their parents held a charter ceremony Thursday nigth to celebrate the inauguration of the high school’s Kiwanis Key Club.

Jamie Wesoloski, the new president of the Erie High Key Club, said the club will show a different side of the students who go there.

“We will show that the general population here is not just what you see online. We are future welders, construction workers, sales women and men, lawyers, police officers and so much more,” said Wesoloski.

And the Key Club is already hitting the ground running with plans to donate to homeless shelters near Thanksgiving.
