Saline County ranks highest in Arkansas for 2024 voter turnout

BENTON, Ark. – According to the Arkansas Secretary of States Office, Saline County voter turnout was 71.66%, a nearly 7% increase from the state average of 64.94%.

County officials say it took a lot of planning and initiative.

“That is just something that we celebrate that we are excited about, that’s something that speaks to our election officials, our county clerk, our election commissioners, our fantastic poll workers and of course the voters,” Saline County communication director Trevor Villines said.

Villines accrediting the hard work and dedication of the county clerk, Doug Curtis for the turnout rates.

“I put up signs all over the county advertising the county for early voting, our early voting was phenomenal, just phenomenal,” Curtis said.

During the 2024 General Election, a total of 80,850 people were registered to vote of those 57,927 ballots were cast, generating the 71.66% voter turnout rate.
