The wait is on for Ja Morant’s official injury diagnosis after hard fall against the Lakers

Ja Morant has been dealing with an injury after he was hit in midair by Christian Koloko in the Memphis Grizzlies’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers. It was a puzzling play because he got undercut in the middle of his jump, which led to him falling hard onto the ground and no foul was called.

It was initially announced as a hamstring injury, but the updated diagnosis shows he has injured his hip. Coach Taylor Jenkins made sure to give an update to the media before the Grizzlies’ win against the Washington Wizards.

“The hamstring was more kind of in the moment. Initially, that was where he was feeling it. After some further evaluation, he felt it more in the hip,” Jenkins said in his pre-game media availability. “He had imaging done yesterday, and we are just kind of going through the consultations with the doctors. He has a follow-up consultation tomorrow, and then we will have a better idea of what the timeline looks like.”
