Newton Woman Arrested On A Warrant Gets Additional Felony Drug Charge

A fifty-four year old Newton woman arrested on an outstanding warrant Thursday evening was given an additional drug charge. According to Newton Police, three Clonazepam pills and some hypodermic needles were allegedly found in Ronda Lee Paulson’s billfold. The police report says a tip about Paulson being at a Newton grocery store led to her arrest shortly after 5:30 Thursday evening. Paulson was wanted for an alleged Probation Violation. She now faces an additional charge of 3rd or Subsequent Offense Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class D felony. Her initial court appearance is pending.
