Nationwide, CA discount appliance store bankrupt, offers liquidation sales at all 328 locations

American Freight, the discount furniture and appliance chain with 328 locations nationwide, is closing its doors for good after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company, which operates 15 stores in California, including locations in Los Angeles, Ontario, and Fresno, has struggled with rising inflation and macroeconomic challenges, which led to its financial downfall.

Starting November 5, liquidation sales offering up to 30% off all inventory have begun, as the retailer aims to clear out stock before shutting down completely. Ian Fredericks, CEO of Hilco Consumer-Retail, overseeing the closures, encourages customers to shop early for the best deals as “everything must go.”
