ATLANTA, Ga. (WJBF) – An Atlanta based nonprofit group called Southface is advocating for sustainability.
The group is working with people and other nonprofits to save money through green energy programs and help the environment.
At Southface, they have had more than 1,300 students to learn about sustainability, economic improvements to make sure, there aren’t things like mold, and giving more than 7,000 affordable housing permits. They use it to train you to save money on your utility bills.
“On the roof behind me, you are going to have more daylight and even stories of well being. There are even stories of libraries that have more skylights check out more books. Many of the stores you store have skylights because it lowers the cost of the building and make them more comfortable,” said James Marlow, president of Southface.
They work on preventing things carbon monoxide poisoning, make sure there aren’t leaks inside, or outside, and prepare your home so that they can save you costs on your utility costs.
