More than 16,000 runners converged on downtown Indianapolis today for the 17th annual CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K, setting a new record as the largest marathon in the event’s history. The day was marked by astounding performances, with three course records and a record-breaking number of finishers.
Lindsey Bradley stole the show in the Women’s Marathon, clocking a remarkable 2:31:46 and shattering the previous course record by nearly four minutes. Bradley dominated, finishing four minutes ahead of the runner-up and ten minutes ahead of the third-place finisher.
The half marathon champions also made history. Chandler Gibbens set a new men’s record, finishing at 1:02:25—one second ahead of the previous record. In the women’s race, Emma Grace Hurley outpaced her competitors and claimed victory with a time of 1:08:25, two minutes under the previous record, with the top three women all finishing under the old course record.
The marathon saw over 5,000 finishers—its largest field ever. Austin Nolan led the men’s race in 2:16:30, followed closely by runners from Texas. The day also celebrated Beyond Monumental’s Run for a Cause program, where more than 240 runners raised funds for organizations such as Team World Vision and the American Society of Suicide Prevention.
