Man dead one month after motorcycle wreck

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – The Anderson County Coroner’s Office said a man has died after a motorcycle wreck that happened in October.

On October 14 at around 3:30 p.m., first responders were called to a scene where a man on a motorcycle had been hit by a car on Old Pendleton Road in Easley.

The victim was identified as 57-year-old Sanford Welborn. He was transported to Prisma Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.

According to the coroner’s office, investigation shows that Welborn pulled out into the roadway and was hit by the oncoming vehicle. He was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from the motorcycle.

The cause of death is multiple traumatic injuries secondary to blunt force trauma, according to the coroner’s office.
