Yupdduk, a popular Korean street food brand known for its signature spicy rice cakes, has a potential new location coming to Buena Park. However, it appears there may be a kink in the franchisee’s plans to open.
A local realtor, Ryeong Jeong, posted on social media recently, stating, “Thrilled to announce that we’ve officially closed on this business transaction! Congratulations to my client, the owner of the popular Korean restaurant Yupdduk, on expanding to a new location in Buena Park!”
But the franchise’s founder, Alex Sohn, told What Now OC that this announcement was premature. It appears that corporate approval is still pending.
“Unfortunately, the rumor of a new Yupdduk location opening in Buena Park is unauthorized activity by the current Diamond Bar Franchisee considering moving the business from Diamond Bar to Buena Park. Since it is not an approved movement from a franchisee, we do not have any information to share,” he said.
Yupdduk is a popular Korean street food brand with a menu centered around rice cakes, fish cakes, and other delicacies. Dishes are known for their distinctive spicy kick, largely due to the use of “Ttangcho,” a special, naturally spicy chili pepper sourced directly from Korea.
