In Week 11 of the 2024 college football season, Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes will battle the Texas Tech Red Raiders in a Big 12 clash on Saturday afternoon.
Sanders has become one of the most popular players in the entire nation, and not just because of his father, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders.
The 22-year-old quarterback from Tyler, Texas, is one of the top prospects for the 2025 NFL draft for his play on the field, completing 220-of-300 passes for 2,591 yards, 21 touchdowns and just six interceptions prior to the Texas Tech battle. He’s also run for three touchdowns.
However, his celebrity didn’t stop the officials from enforcing a rule on the quarterback.
Before the game in Lubbock, Texas, Shedeur Sanders wore an outfit during warmups that the officials had an issue with, forcing the star to change his shirt before continuing his pregame routine.
In all likelihood, the officials made the decision to have Shedeur Sanders change his shirt due to a rule the NCAA implemented in 2020. During warmups, all players must have their jersey number shown clearly on their outfits in order to take the field. It appeared Shedeur Sanders’ initial shirt did not meet this requirement.
