Two Women Arrested in Connection to Meth-Related Death

Two women are now in custody after being indicted by a Charlotte County Grand Jury in a case involving the distribution of methamphetamines that resulted in a death.

State Attorney Amira Fox convened the Grand Jury on Thursday, leading to the arrests of Marie Margaret Hunter and Mary Katheryn Brown later that evening. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation.

Marie Margaret Hunter has been indicted on charges of First Degree Murder for the Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamines), a Capital Felony. Additional charges include Sale or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Controlled Substance.

Mary Katheryn Brown faces similar charges, including First Degree Murder for the Unlawful Distribution of Methamphetamines, Sale or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, and Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Controlled Substance. She is also charged with Prostitution – Offering to Commit Prostitution, Lewdness, or Assignation.
