The National Weather Service has issued an update for the New Orleans area, forecasting continued unseasonably warm temperatures through the short term. As of this morning, temperatures are around 78°F—nearly 28 degrees higher than typical for this time of year. Despite the warm conditions, clouds and rain will keep afternoon highs from reaching their full potential.
While light to moderate rain remains scattered across the region, a band of thunderstorms offshore near Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes is being monitored for potential heavy rainfall. However, most forecasts expect this weather to stay offshore. A Flood Watch in the northwest corner of the region is set to expire shortly, with no major issues expected at this time. The warm and cloudy conditions are expected to persist into Monday, with limited temperature increases throughout the day.
