Police investigating after shooting victim dropped off at Knoxville hospital

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Police are investigating after a man with multiple gunshot wounds was dropped off at a Knoxville hospital on Sunday.

The Knoxville Police Department was notified around 4:30 p.m. that a man with multiple gunshot wounds had arrived at the Fort Sanders Medical Center in a personal vehicle. He was transferred to the University of Tennessee Medical Center and is critical condition, police said.

Teen facing attempted murder charge in East Knoxville shooting taken into custody

Investigators believe the shooting occurred in the 3000 block of Woodbine Avenue. The suspect vehicle is possibly a black full-size SUV that was seen leaving the area following the shooting.

Police said the victim drove away from the scene and parked his car in the area of Baxter Avenue and Marion Street before being picked up and transported to Fort Sanders Medical Center.
