LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Animal Shelter Appreciation Week recognizes the dedication of Southern Nevada’s animal shelters and their tireless efforts to improve the lives of both pets and people in the community.
“Our pets are our best friends,” Marlene Richter, executive director of Noah’s Animal House, said. “They make life so much better and so animal shelter appreciation is not just for the owned animals, but also for those that are waiting for their homes.”
From Noah’s Animal House, a shelter for pets of domestic violence victims, to the Nevada SPCA, it’s the dedicated staff behind the scenes who work tirelessly to care for animals—whether they run, walk, hop, or even swim.
“Our animal shelter provision all throughout Clark County is amazing,” Richter said. “They work day and night to save pets, to rescue pets, to provide adoption opportunities. They give so much to our community.”
Every animal is unique and has its own personality, so it’s up to the staff to make sure all the animals are comfortable and happy.
