(WNY News Now) – An inmate at Chautauqua County Jail faces new charges following alleged property damage within the facility. On November 5, 2024, authorities at Chautauqua County Jail reported an incident involving inmate Xavier Rodriguez, 35, who allegedly caused damage to county-owned property. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Rodriguez’s actions led to a charge of Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree, a class E felony under New York law, which applies when an individual intentionally damages another’s property exceeding a certain value threshold.
