WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (WFLA) — A 27-year-old Dade City man has died after hitting a Ford Focus while riding a motorcycle in Winter Haven on Sunday, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Around 10:30 a.m., the victim was driving a Suzuki motorcycle with a group of four other bikers traveling south on County Line Road. The group was reportedly traveling behind the Ford Focus, which attempted a left turn on Crump Road.
At the same time, the victim crossed over the double yellow line while trying to pass Ford, leading him to strike the driver’s side of the vehicle.

The victim was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered fatal injuries despite wearing a helmet, the sheriff’s office said.
Witnesses said the driver of the Ford did use a turn signal.
The crash is still under investigation.
