Your Weather Authority: Veterans Day will have a gusty wind and rain developing late.

ERIE, PA – Veterans Day should be mainly rain-free, outside of a brief sprinkle. Another in a series of cold fronts approaches late in the day, with gusty winds and redeveloping rain showers late in the afternoon into evening.

The windspeeds will be sustained between 15-30 mph through the day, then increasing as the front approaches late. Some stronger gusts approach 40-45 mph for a few hours, especially near the immediate Lake Erie shoreline in the evening.

The winds shift to the north and west ushering in much chillier air Monday night. In fact, leftover rain showers change to minor wet snow flurries in the hills by sunrise Tuesday.

Eventually, leftover cold rain shower, graupel or wet flurries taper as clouds will slowly break for more sun through Tuesday. It will be a much chillier day, with temperatures likely in the mid-40s.
