Northern Nevada Forecast: Gusty Winds and Rain Set to Impact Monday’s Forecast

A fast-moving storm will hit the Reno/Tahoe area on Monday, bringing gusty winds and precipitation throughout the day. The National Weather Service warns that southwest winds will cause disruptions, with gusts exceeding 40 mph in the valleys and over 70 mph in the mountains. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Tahoe Basin, and Lake Wind Advisories are issued for Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake.

Rain and snow will begin in the morning in northeast California, spreading into the Reno and Tahoe areas by midday. The bulk of the precipitation will likely occur during the afternoon commute, but it is expected to clear by early evening. Temperatures will also drop significantly, with a 10+ degree decrease from Sunday to Monday.

After a brief weather lull midweek, the region will see another round of storms late Wednesday through the weekend, with cooler temperatures and more chances for rain and snow. However, uncertainty remains about the exact timing and intensity of these systems. Stay tuned for updates.
