ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque firefighters saved 12 cats from a house fire on Sunday. Crews responded to the fire on 1420 San Jacinto NE around 9:11 p.m.
The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes of their arrival; however, the home suffered extensive damage, including damage to the roof. AFR personnel helped tend to the 12 cats that were saved.

AFR said there were “numerous” other cats in the home that were found dead. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.
