Davidson County Sheriff’s Office issues warning about phone scam

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning about a new phone scam.

According to a Monday media release, callers have claimed to be employees with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and have requested money for inmate bonds using platforms like CashApp.

The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office added that employees would not ask for any type of payment via phone.

If you receive a call from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, you can verify that call with the office or with the Metro Nashville Police Department’s fraud unit by calling (615) 862-7594 .
