KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — Kelly Spahr, of Kernersville, won a $250,000 top prize in a new scratch-off game, according to an NC Education Lottery news release.

“It’s a life-changing amount of money for us,” she said. “It really helps us out a lot.”

Spahr bought her winning $20 Merry Multiplier scratch-off from the Quality Mart on Piney Grove Road in Kernersville because she liked the look of the new ticket.

“When I was at the gas station, I saw that there were new tickets out, so I decided to try them,” Spahr said. “The ticket has a folding part on it, which is what sold me on it.”

Spahr said the big win means a lot to her family.

“This just opened up some more doors for us,” Spahr said.
