NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WJBF) – Heads up if you’re planning to use the North Augusta Greeneway. North Augusta’s Parks and Recreation announcing a closure here at the Greeneway starting Monday at 7 a.m. for maintenance and clean-up . The closure will last “until further notice.”
“I come out here almost every single day, if not once, twice in the morning. And then at night after we’ve had dinner,” Christine Buhmeyer said. “We spent the day here at the Greenway on, at the park. we just fell in love with it.
After Hurricane Helene, there’s still damage. Trees down, mud on paths, and closed signs are up.
The whole Greeneway is closed, including the Riverside roundabout to the soccer complex and Riverfront loop.
“I was looking forward to coming on the Greeenway, and we were at her house in her backyard when we tried to come by it, but it had big yellow tape. And Christie’s like, ‘It’s closed.’ So, we went to the amphitheater, and I’m like, ‘That’s open down there, so let’s go,’” Mary McCall added.
