Projected Outcomes Continue to Shift as Vote Counts Updated in Regional Races

Officials have released updates for a number of southern California’s Congressional races.

The 49th Congressional District straddles San Diego County and Orange County. Democratic incumbent Mike Levin leads the San Diego portion of that race in San Diego, but so far trails Republican challenger Matt Gunderson in more conservative Orange County by 11,157 votes, 167,787-156,630, 51.7%-48.3%.

Gunderson is leading in Orange County but Levin is ahead in San Diego County.

In the 47th Congressional District, wholly in Orange County, Sen. Dave Min, D-Irvine, leads Republican Scott Baugh by 2,713 votes, 151,254- 148,541, 50.5%-49.5%.

Min had led by 1,078 votes after Friday’s count after trailing by 616 votes after Thursday’s count and 1,133 after Wednesday’s in the race to succeed Rep. Katie Porter, D-Irvine, who unsuccessfully ran for the Senate seat previously held by late Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

Min wrote on social media Saturday he is “feeling good about our momentum” in his quest to succeed Rep. Katie Porter, D-Irvine, who vacated the seat to unsuccessfully run for the Senate seat previously held by the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
