A local senior center celebrated its community members who served in America’s armed forces for Veterans Day.
The Northwestern Senior Center in Albion brought together its residents and those in the area to honor those who’ve fought to preserve America’s freedom.
Several veterans shared their experiences and duties in the military while others spoke on their perspectives from the wars they served in.
The center also reserved an empty table with six chairs to honor the Americans who were or are missing from every branch of the military and highlight the need to never forget the brave men and women who put their lives on the line.
Our own Meteorologist Tom Atkins stopped by to visit the vets, hear their stories and talk about the weather’s importance during the June 6 D-Day invasion.
