An arrest has been made in the October shooting death of a young man in north Stockton.
Stockton Police Department officials said Antuan Scott-Perry, 23, was arrested last week in connection with the killing of 24-year-old Michael Jackson , of Sacramento.
The shooting was reported just before 3 a.m. on Oct. 27 in the 800 block of Macduff Avenue. Investigators say they found Jackson unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds.
Paramedics were called to the scene and declared the man dead.
Jackson’s death marked the 41st homicide of the year in Stockton.
As of Nov. 11, the city’s homicide count has risen to 44. The most recent victims, Raymond Rodriguez, 46, of Stockton, and Jeanessa Williams, 22, of Lathrop, were killed just two hours apart on Saturday.
Scott-Perry was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on Nov. 4, according to jail records. He is facing several felony charges, including carrying a loaded firearm and not being the registered owner, murder, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bail is not allowed for Scott-Perry, who is expected in court on Nov. 20.
