AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Akron police are searching for a man wanted in connection to an armed robbery in the city.
According to a press release from the Akron Police Department , officers responded to a robbery at Value Food Market on the 500 block of South Canton Road around 9:35 a.m. on Monday.

An employee at the scene told officers an unknown suspect came into the store, pulled out a knife and demanded money from the safe, the release said.
The suspect then took an undisclosed amount of money and fled north, according to the release.
According to the release, investigators consider the suspect a person of interest in connection to the robbery. He is described as being 40-50 years old, around 5 feet 9 inches tall or taller, and weighing approximately 190-210 pounds.
