City officials introduce new Folly Beach parking app

FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCBD)—The City of Folly Beach has a new way for visitors to check for parking.

Folly Parking is an app city council member Chris Bizzell developed for sharing parking information. It is available on Apple and Android stores.

Some popular features include information sharing, traffic routing, and integration with third-party services run by the city.

Users can see availability at various lots throughout the city, including the number of spaces taken, lot capacity, and percentage of spots taken.

In addition to individual lot metrics, travelers can find Folly Beach rules, parking rules, traffic cameras, and closures or alerts if something is affecting traffic on a road.

Not only do users have access to parking information, but they can pay parking tickets electronically.

City officials will present an overview of the app at the Folly Beach city council meeting on Tuesday night.
