17-year-old identified as victim in North Carolina homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 17-year-old is dead after a shooting in east Charlotte Sunday afternoon, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Officials say they were called shortly before 3:30 p.m. for an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 1600 block of Eastcrest Drive. When they arrived, they found 17-year-old Oscar Paisano-Perez dead from a gunshot wound.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide detectives responded to the scene along with Crime Scene Search detectives.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective. Detective Jones is the lead detective assigned to the case. The public can also leave anonymous tips at Crime Stoppers (704-334-1600) or on the Crime Stoppers website .
