Cook County official arrested on DUI charges in Chicago, police say

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Samantha Steele was arrested on DUI charges over the weekend.

Chicago police have confirmed to WBBM that Steele was arrested shortly before 9 p.m. on Sunday for drunken driving near Winnemac and Ashland Avenues in Uptown.

The 45-year-old Evanston resident was elected to the Board of Review, which handles property tax appeals, two years ago.

Steele was recently admonished by the county’s inspector general for leaking details of an appeal for a possible Bears stadium property in Arlington Heights.

She’s due in court on Dec. 27th.
