Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown didn’t appreciate Giannis Antetokounmpo throwing an elbow to his face and then adding insult to injury by faking a handshake during Sunday’s Boston Celtics vs. Milwaukee Bucks game.
The 2024 Eastern Conference and NBA Finals MVP responded by giving up a flagrant foul on Antetokounmpo in the fourth quarter of the game and he went on to call Antetokounmpo ‘a child’ during the postgame interviews.
Most who discussed the incident felt the same way Brown did. However, Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtics captain Paul Pierce looked at it differently. Instead of criticizing Giannis, Pierce blamed Brown for the handshake fiasco.
“J, you can’t go for that, ” said Pierce. “First of all, I’m not shaking hands in the middle of the game, running down the court. If you put your hand out, I might slap it down. We not doing none of that until either before the game or after the game. So, here’s a lesson learned.”
