The state’s transportation cabinet is seeking input on possible changes to a busy stretch of Bardstown Road in southeastern Jefferson County.
The effort focuses on the portion of Bardstown Road between the Bullitt County line and KY 1065 (the intersection of Beulah Church and Seatonville roads).
Development of a planning study has been underway since earlier this year, a process intended to reveal needs along the stretch of U.S. 31 East and assess ways to make the road safer, less congested, and more friendly to transportation means beyond vehicles.
Building on a public open house over the summer, a final public input session is set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in the cafeteria of Bates Elementary School, 7601 Bardstown Road.
Both short- and long-term improvements will be suggested in the planning study, which is expected to be completed in April 2025, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet , which is conducting the study.
The goal of the study is to create a plan that prioritizes improvement ideas and outlines potential costs and timetables for projects along the state highway corridor.
